Dear pet owners in Japan,
Welcome to the wonderful world of clicker training. Clicker training is
a science-based system for communicating with your pet. With a clicker in
your hand you can tell your pet when it's doing the right thing. Pets
quickly learn to earn treats by causing you to click. And how do they cause
you to click? By showing good manners and doing what you ask.
You don't have to yell and shout, or use corrective or punishing
equipment, and you don't need physical skills. Clicker training is easy for
you and fun for your dog. I have been honored to teach clicker training in
Japan, at the Animal Fanciers' school and at a training school for dogs
that assist the blind. I was impressed by how fast my Japanese students and
their dogs learned about clicker training. Businessmen and housewives,
students and professors, they all had successes from the first time they
tried.
I congratulate Fumiko on creating a website to bring clicker
training information to Japan.
